About Belly Dance
Belly Dance is one of the World’s Oldest Dance for of social dance. Originating in the Middle East as a Prenatal Dance, it is traditionally a feminine movement. The practice was used to provide toning and strengthening of the muscle needed to prepare a woman’s body for an easy, smooth and controlled child delivery.

The most distinguishing feature of belly dancing is the isolated movements especially in the abdomen. Although it may seem that only the abdominal area is moving, belly dancing involves several other parts of the body as well. While belly dancing, a dancer must isolate major muscle groups and work them in isolation or in opposition to other parts of the body. It is an elegant and gentle art form. Pure in it’s essence which embraces the natural curves of a woman.

This style of dance can be practiced and performed by women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Women who practice belly dancing learn how to embrace their femininity and gain an increased awareness of their inner self. This can empower more of their own acceptance and self love which could in turn helps them to love others as well.
